VideoHover or browser picture-in-picture?

Browser picture-in-picture is free and can keep a video beside your work. VideoHover costs $25 or €25 once for a separate YouTube player on Windows and Mac, with its own bookmarks and pin control. Compare setup, features and playback limits before you choose.

Start here if…

You just want a video on top.

Try the built-in browser option first. You may already have everything you need, especially if you save videos in YouTube playlists or browser bookmarks.

Keep using it if the controls and playback work well for you. You do not need to buy another app just to get a floating window.

Consider VideoHover if…

You want a dedicated place for YouTube.

You prefer pasting a link into a standalone player, keeping video bookmarks there, and choosing when its window is pinned. VideoHover gives that workflow its own app on Windows and Mac.

The purchase includes all three desktop downloads. There is no subscription.

Try free browser picture-in-picture

In Firefox on Windows or Mac

Play a compatible video and use the picture-in-picture control shown over it. You can also use the video’s browser context menu. YouTube has its own menu, so a second right-click can expose the browser menu. See Mozilla’s current instructions for controls and exceptions.

In Safari on Mac

Start a web video, open Safari’s Page menu, and choose Enter Picture in Picture. Move or resize the floating window as needed. Menu availability can depend on the Safari version and video. See Apple’s Safari guide.

Playback limitations still matter

VideoHover uses embedded YouTube playback. A video that plays on youtube.com may not allow playback inside the app. Buying VideoHover does not unlock private videos, bypass age or regional restrictions, or enable offline downloads.

Pinning is also not a promise that a window will appear above every full-screen app or game. Check the workflow you actually use. The 30-day refund promise applies if VideoHover is not right for you.
